Welcome to Umiak Outfitters

Umiak Outfitters opened in Stowe, Vermont in 1989 as a specialty paddle shop. Owner Steve Brownlee was a long-time Mad River Canoe employee and turned his love of the outdoors into a full-time vocation. The store now has hundreds of boats in stock and a large assortment of paddling accessories and a core staff that has worked in the outdoor industry for most of their lives. We are a long-time Tubbs snowshoe dealer and we also have quite a selection of Telemark, AT and XC ski gear and clothing.
